Longji Ancient Zhuang Village

Located in the south of Ping'an Village of Longsheng County, Longji Ancient Zhuang Village (Longji Gu Zhuang Zhai) has a history of more than 700 years. It consists of four tribes, which are Liao Family Tribe, Hou Family Tribe, Pingduan Tribe and Pingzhai Tribe. Zhuang people of three family names (Liao, Hou and Pan) live there. They belong to the Baiyi Zhuang – White Clothes Zhuang.

The Longji Zhuang?Ancient Village?is quieter and more traditional than some other ethnic villages, because it was only recently developed and to tourists. Their houses are very unique and consist the largest scale of Diaojiaolou wooden houses in China. Diaojiaolou are a kind of wooden houses built by the ethnic people in mountainous areas. They were built by the mountain slopes, and supported by wooden columns over the ground. They can protect against snakes or bugs and are damp proof. The handrails are useful for hanging clothes and other agricultural produce.

View point of Floating Dragons to the River
Layers upon layers of terraced fields look as if thousands of people hand in hand, advancing toward?Jinjiang?River. The tumbling waves looks like a floating dragon soaring with the force of an avalanche.

View point of “The First Rice Terrace”
Here the ancestors of this region started to cultivate the fields. It’s the source of the rice terraces. Layers of rice terraced fields’ reposes the hard working of generations, using primitive tools. We couldn’t help praising this amazing work that created by the forebears with blood, sweat and wisdom. It’s really a miracle.

Row upon row of “ganlan” style houses, the most complete, oldest and largest preserved architectural complex for our country unfolded in front of your eyes. With the sun shinning on the terraced fields, which look like the dragon scales, sparkling up the mountains. The winding terraced fields seem to play a lively melody.
